Youth Leadership Development Program
Empowering Tomorrow's Leaders
Enabling community empowerment through the Youth Leadership Program and other youth leadership programs by addressing challenges affecting both male and female students.
GOALS/OBJECTIVES
The Youth Leadership Program will center on educational attainment, community accountability, leadership growth, financial literacy, cultural awareness, and social skills.
WHEN
Program begins on September 30, 2023. The program will consist of three leadership projects that will occur in the months of October 2023 (Community Service Project), January 2024 (Career Readiness Project), and March 2024 (Financial Literacy Project). The program will conclude with a Youth Leadership Conference that will be held in June 2024.
WHO'S ELIGIBLE
- Male and female students residing in the Carlisle and Harrisburg area
- In grades 6-12
- Maintaining a grade point average of 1.00-3.00 or better
- Motivated to participate in the program
- Will demonstrate mutual respect to program staff and students
STUDENT/PARENT CONTRACT
Students must sign a contract affirming their dedication to the Youth Leadership Program, and parents/guardians are also required to sign, expressing their commitment to supporting the student's involvement in the program.
SELECTION PROCESS
Based on the criteria described above 30 male and 30 female junior and high school students will be randomly selected by Bibleway Family Support Center staff to participate in the Youth Leadership Development Program.
